Also known as "Reaffirmation of Vows", these ceremonies are very special and touching because of the reason they are being held.
It seems they originated from couples who had experienced difficult times and overcame the problems, then wished to celebrate and start again. It is very common to celebrate a special anniversary such as 10th, 20th , 30th or 50th and some couples actually celebrate each decade.
The ceremony is constructed differently to a wedding ceremony, in that it tells of a journey and highlights are captured of that journey, children are involved and celebration of family included. Vows are often restated or reworded to add meaning to that journey.
